Sievi – pioneer and manufacturer of quality
It was almost 70 years ago, with four employees working in very modest conditions, when the foundations were laid for shoe manufacturing by Sievi’s skilled shoemakers, and a new concept was born; Sievi quality. Today, Sievi is the largest manufacturer of footwear in Northern Europe, producing one million pairs of footwear a year.
Founded in 1951 by Lauri Jokinen, Sievin Jalkine Oy established its operations in the village of Sievi making boots which combined a foot piece made of rubber with a leather shaft, and it wasn’t until 1964 that the idea for safety footwear was conceived. The demand for industrial safety products grew rapidly in the 70's but, by this time, Sievi was well prepared to meet this demand as we had already at the time developed a wide range of safety footwear. This is how one of the fundamentals of Sievi’s success was created: a specialist in safety footwear.
Decades of experience, a strong and committed family business culture, continuous development of our operations and utilising the latest technology are
the cornerstones to Sievi’s success. Today, our customers are supported by
a fully automated warehouse with over 100,000 pairs of footwear in stock which guarantees excellent product availability and prompt, punctual delivery times.
Sievi employs 500 people in Sievi and Oulainen and are proud to manufacture footwear with Finnish workmanship and skill. By wearing Sievi you can say with pride - Made in Finland.
