ESD Training in a New Direction

Specialist ESD product and service supplier, Static Safe Environments has taken a radical step to restructure its training offering to provide even better and more comprehensive packages.

SSE’s Managing Director, Paul Dickins said, ‘We have been involved with ESD training for over 20 years tailoring our courses specifically for individual companies’.

‘The courses have been hugely successful and in some years SSE has run as many as 12 training events all over the United Kingdom.’

Traditionally SSE has run company specific ESD training courses covering three topics:

An Introduction to Electrostatic Discharge

  • Train the Trainer
  • ESD Co-ordinator Training

Now, in a radical rethink on its approach to ESD training, Static Safe Environments has gone into partnership with Dr Jeremy Smallwood the UK’s foremost expert in ESD control for the electronics industry.

He is known internationally for his research and knowledge about ESD and represents the UK on the IEC Technical Committee for electrostatics.

Jeremy’s involvement with SSE’s ESD training will bring a new vibrancy, angle and style to the courses we run and delegates can be certain that they are receiving the most up-to-date information and thinking from a top, top man.

SSE and Jeremy will offer three standard ESD courses:

Group ESD Awareness Training – the reality of ESD

  • ESD Co-ordinator Training – achieving a highly effective ESD programme
  • Train the Trainer

In a break with tradition, in addition to running company specific courses, SSE is able to offer Group ESD Awareness Training – the reality of ESD, to delegates from a mixture of companies.

These ‘open’ half day courses will be held in the new training facility at SSE House in Stourbridge.

The following dates for ESD training at SSE have already been established:

  • Wednesday 25th November 2015
  • Wednesday 9th March 2016
  • Wednesday 15th June 2016
  • Wednesday 7th September 2016
  • Wednesday 9th November 2016

If you have any interest in attending an ESD course at SSE please speak to Sue Hancocks, Sales Office Manager on 01384 899 288; s.hancocks@staticsafe.co.uk for a full information pack and further details.

Places are limited to eight delegates per course and it is advisable to book early to avoid any disappointment.

The thinking behind running ‘open’ courses is that it will allow companies with new starters or just a few employees requiring training, to take advantage of this option without incurring unnecessary costs.

If required, bespoke or customised ESD courses can be arranged to meet the specific requirements of a company either delivered onsite or at SSE House in Stourbridge.
